Living Authentically: Wellness Wisdom from Diana Stobo

When you meet someone who has truly said “yes” to transformation, you can feel it in the way they speak, the way they live, and the way they lead. That’s exactly what I experienced in my conversation with Diana Stobo, a trailblazer in the wellness space and the founder of The Retreat Costa Rica.

Diana’s journey into wellness wasn’t a straight path paved with clarity and ease, it was born out of struggle. After facing major health challenges following in vitro fertilization, Diana found herself searching for healing and wholeness in a body and spirit that felt depleted. Like many of us, she reached a point where she knew something had to change.

What came next was not just a health transformation, but a full awakening.

The Power of Self-Love
A pivotal moment arrived during a trip to Thailand. Far from the life she knew, Diana encountered something far more powerful than any diet, exercise plan, or external solution. She discovered the profound, transformative force of self-love.

It wasn’t just about changing what she ate or how she moved, it was about the way she saw herself. About choosing compassion over criticism. About allowing gratitude to replace striving.

This radical shift planted the seed for what would eventually become The Retreat Costa Rica, a sanctuary that has since welcomed thousands of people ready to heal, release, and step into a more authentic version of themselves.

Saying Yes to Transformation
In our conversation, Diana reminded me, and I hope she reminds you too, that living authentically doesn’t mean we have it all figured out. It’s about making the small, intentional choices every day that align us closer to the life we desire.

Here are some of the gems she shared:

  • Detoxification is more than physical. We all carry emotional baggage and energetic weight that needs to be released just as much as toxins in the body.
  • Small shifts matter. You don’t have to overhaul your entire life in one dramatic moment. Transformation begins with sustainable, consistent steps.
  • Your inner voice is your guide. When we slow down enough to listen, we often already know the truth of what we need.

Diana’s wisdom is a powerful reminder that authenticity isn’t something we achieve, it’s something we return to.

What Living Authentically Really Means
For me, living authentically is about courage. The courage to say “no” when something isn’t aligned, and the courage to say “yes” when God, your soul, or life itself is nudging you forward into the unknown.

It’s about choosing presence over performance. Gratitude over grasping. Faith over fear.

Diana’s story is proof that when we embrace authenticity and self-love, not only do we change our own lives, we create spaces for others to do the same. The Retreat Costa Rica isn’t just a hotel and spa. It’s a reflection of one woman’s “yes” that has multiplied into countless transformations for people all around the world.

So, where might you be invited to live more authentically today? What’s one small choice you can make to step closer to the truest version of yourself?
